Mahbobeh Sabetnia appointed as new member of Otto Group’s Executive Board, Technology & Retail

Mahbobeh Sabetnia, former Chief Tech Product Officer at Haleon will join as a member of the Otto Group’s Executive Board on 19th May. She will assume responsibility for technology, business intelligence, e-commerce and corporate ventures. She will succeed Sebastian Klauke, who left the company end of February.

A highly accomplished international technology leader, Mahbobeh Sabetnia brings over 20 years of experience in fast-paced, consumer-driven industries. Her background spans digital transformation, omnichannel retail, fintech, and data-centric product development, having held senior roles across global businesses including Amazon, McDonald’s, HSBC, Mars, and most recently, Haleon, where she served as Chief Tech Product Officer, a GSK spin-off.

Mahbobeh began her career at Accenture in 2004, followed by a leadership role at Bank of Ireland. From 2011 to 2015, she held operational and technical product roles at Amazon, then advanced to become Senior Director of Digital at McDonald’s. As Global Head of Digital Customer Activation at HSBC, she developed deep expertise in financial services. From 2019 to 2021, she led digital innovation at Mars as Vice President of Digital Innovation and Growth. During this time, she was also appointed as Non-Executive Director on the Board of FTSE 100-listed JD Sports Fashion Plc., before joining Haleon in 2022 to shape its global digital ecosystem.

She succeeds Sebastian Klauke, who held this position from 2019 to 2025. The graduate physicist accepted a position outside the Otto Group and has now started as CEO of DKV Mobility.
