A few weeks ago, the Otto Group announced that it would offer all colleagues in Germany voluntary and free Corona vaccination. The planning and set-up work for putting nearly twenty plant vaccination centres nationwide into operation, including one at the Group Campus in Hamburg, has now been completed.

Following the latest statements by the German Federal Ministry of Health, the Otto Group expects vaccination to start on 07 June, subject to governmental approvals and the sufficient availability of vaccines.

Over recent months, an Otto Group interdisciplinary project group has developed a concept that envisages offering all Group employees in Germany their first vaccination, as well as a follow-up date for the second vaccination, within one month. This will always be on a voluntary basis, of course, and under the condition that employees have not yet taken advantage of other privately available vaccination options, for example at nationwide vaccination centres or at GPs‘ surgeries. The aim is to immunize the Otto Group workforce as quickly and broadly as possible. A test run at the company vaccination centre at the Group Campus in Hamburg has already been successfully completed.

Petra Scharner-Wolff, Member of the Executive Board Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Controlling, Human Resources Otto Group, and Chairwoman of the Group Crisis Crisis Committee: "I would like to begin by thanking all colleagues involved in the planning of the company vaccination centres. We see ourselves as excellently prepared to take another, very decisive step in protecting our colleagues’ health and fulfilling our social responsibility as a company in combatting the pandemic. It is now crucial that the authorities give us the green light to launch our vaccination programme as quickly as possible, and that we receive enough vaccines to meet our ambitious schedule. In any case, we are ready to go."

In order to be able to carry out the planned vaccinations as rapidly as possible, the Otto Group Company Doctors are collaborating with an external service provider who is placing a large part of the required medical personnel at the Group’s disposal.
