At the Hanseatic Versicherungsdienst (HVD) a planned change in top management will be effected over the coming months. At the end of February 2020 the long-serving Managing Director Brigitte Stade will enter her well-deserved retirement. She will be succeeded by Sebastian Strache, who joins the HVD Management Board on 01 November 2019 and will be worked into his new role by Brigitte Stade up to the end of the financial year.
From 01 March 2020 Sebastian will hold sole responsibility for the executive management of this Otto Group company.
Sebastian Strache is a fully qualified lawyer. Following several positions at P&C in Dusseldorf, in 2010 he took over as Head of Human Resources and Law at the Witt Group. Here, besides his successful leadership of personnel management over several years, his fresh stimuli in driving the cultural transformation delivered outstanding results. In September 2018 he was appointed Division Manager Culture Change at Hermes Germany and successfully accompanied the reorientation of the company.
Brigitte Stade can look back on a long and successful career with the Otto Group. She launched her career at HVD in 1981, where as early as 1984 she was named Head of Group and B2B Insurance. In 1990 she became an Authorised Signatory and was appointed Managing Director in 2002. “On behalf of the entire Group Executive Board I would like to thank Brigitte Stade for her tremendous commitment and very successful work, and wish her all the very best for the new phase in her life”, says Petra Scharner-Wolff, Member of the Otto Group Executive Board, Finance, and Chairwoman of the HVD Advisory Board. “With Sebastian Strache, this responsible task will be excellently filled anew. I wish him every success and look forward to further cooperation in a new constellation.”
