Otto GmbH & Co. KGaA has issued Schuldschein loans with maturities of three, five and seven years through a transaction on the capital market. The total volume of the current Schuldschein transaction amounts to EUR 325 million. This is the third time since its debut transaction in 2022 that the Otto Group has successfully placed a broadly marketed Schuldschein transaction.
The final volume significantly exceeded the initially targeted marketing volume of EUR 100 million. More than 30 national and international investors, primarily domestic and foreign commercial banks, cooperative banks and savings banks, subscribed the offered tranches. All tranches were priced and placed at the lower end of the pricing range. The majority of the volume was concentrated on the five-year maturity. The proceeds from the transaction will be used to finance general corporate purposes.
"The strong investor interest very impressively confirms the positive and consistent development of the Otto Group in recent years, as well as the high level of confidence that our corporate group enjoys on the capital market. We deliberately opted for another Schuldschein transaction in order to proactively manage our maturity profile
from a position of strength," says Katy Roewer, Chief Financial Officer of the Otto Group.
The current transaction has proven to be stable and attractively priced, making it a great success in a still volatile capital market environment. With this third Schuldschein transaction after 2022 and 2025, the Schuldschein loan as a debt capital instrument is an integral part of the Otto Group's financing strategy and once again diversifies its investor base. In total, the Otto Group was able to place nearly EUR 1 billion on the Schuldschein market across these three transactions.
The placement of the transaction was supported by BNP PARIBAS, DZ BANK AG, ING and LBBW as arrangers. Dentons Europe (Germany) GmbH & Co. KG acted as legal advisor to the Otto Group.
