Science meets practice!

No matter which of our university cooperation schemes interests you, they all have one thing in common: the Otto Group wants to give students opportunities to get to grips with practical aspects of business during their degree courses.

There are many options for getting in touch with Otto Group companies during your studies, from internships in Group companies to guest lectures and participation in work projects. Students can build up a broad network within our group of companies during their university time; this gives them valuable inspiration for their scientific work at university – and in return we get fresh, unbiased ideas to help solve our issues!

E-Commerce Degree at FH Wedel

As Europe’s biggest online retailer for Fashion and Lifestyle, the Otto Group is intensively committed to the area of e-commerce. Thanks to our E-Commerce Endowment at the University of Applied Sciences Wedel near Hamburg, you’ll receive a well-founded basic training in 7 semesters of a Bachelor’s degree, or can opt to expand your methodological skills and technical expertise in a 3-semester Master’s course. Both courses offer a high degree of practical relevance due to guest lectures and case studies that combine the topics of Business IT, Media IT and Business Administration.

Overall, eight Otto Group companies participate in designing the degree course and offer numerous placements: OTTO (Hamburg), Bonprix (Hamburg), SportScheck (Munich), Witt (Weiden), Alba Moda (Bad Salzuflen), Schwab (Hanau), Hermes Logistics Group (Hamburg) and Baur (Burgkunstadt). More information about these E-Commerce courses is available here.

The working environment at OTTO motivates me every day all over again! From the start, we’re encouraged to take on quite responsible tasks and are accepted and warmly welcomed as full team members.
