Sportscheck, Germany's leading multichannel sports retailer, reorganises its Executive Board.
Effective 1 October, Lars Schöneweiß will join the company's Executive Board, assuming responsibility for finance, controlling, IT, logistics and HR. The 46-year-old takes over from Guido Jaenisch who will leave the company on 31 August to seek new professional challenges.
A business engineering graduate, until 2009 Lars Schöneweiß was the sole executive responsible for the brand Joop! In the years that followed he was commercial executive at Windsor GmbH - part of the Holy Fashion Group - where he was responsible for the finance, HR, logisitcs, IT and production divisions. Latterly, he held a post on the management board at fashion distance seller Peter Hahn, heading finance, IT, logistics and HR.
Executive Board member Stefan Herzog will continue to be responsible for purchasing.
As previously reported, Markus Rech, 42, has been appointed chairman of the Executive Board at Sportscheck and will be responsible for corporate strategy and development, overseeing the OTC sales, e-commerce, customer intelligence and marketing divisions. He will join the Board, which retains its triad structure, on 14 September.
Immediately below the Board, Jan Kegelberg, 44, will head the e-commerce sales, marketing and customer intelligence divisions at Sportscheck in the newly-created position of Chief Digital Officer. Reporting directly to Markus Rech, he will join the company effective 14 September.
Previously, Kegelberg was vice-president of e-commerce development for Otto Group Russia. One year later he was appointed CEO of eSolutions OOO, a subsidiary of Otto Group Russia, building up the e-commerce service company for fashion brands in Russia and successfully enabling it to become market leader within two years.
After graduating, Kegelberg joined Saarpor Klaus Eckhardt GmbH as Head of International Sales and worked later, among other things, as corporate consultant at the Boston Consulting Group and in a variety of positions in e-commerce, fulfilment and marketing.
"We are very much looking forward to working with the new management team," says Neela Montgomery, Member of the Executive Board, Multichannel Retail Otto Group, "and are confident this highly talented board will more than capable of meeting the challenges of digital change and of taking Sportscheck back to the top of sporting retail."
