Online fraud is organised crime and on the rise. Our vision is to create a world where online fraud no longer exists. This is why we develop fraud prevention products. Become the Sherlock Holmes of the web and help us build software that solves real fraud cases! In this never-ending race, we are fighting the bad guys with state-of-the-art technology and with powerful data analytics.
We are looking for a passionate (Senior) Data Scientist (f/m/d) to join our Analytics team. The Analytics team consists of data scientists as well as data engineers in order to bridge seamlessly between advanced analytics and Scrum-based product development.
As a (Senior) Data Scientist (f/m/d) at RISK IDENT, you will take responsibility to develop new analytical product features and data services, jump into real fraud discovery data projects, enhance our statistical modeling, and take care of sensitive customer projects, occasionally taking place on-site. At our office in Hamburg, you will closely collaborate across teams with software developers, product experts, product owners, marketing, and sales.
At RISK IDENT, we fight fraudsters by analysing data collections viewed as time-evolving networks that connect devices, transactions, and people. We expect you to support our standard daily operations, but also to productionise state-of-the-art techniques and algorithms from areas such as machine learning, anomaly detection, network theory, time-series analysis, model interpretability, user behavior analytics, or others, in order to maximize their value for the fraud prevention domain. This particularly means to work with data that is highly imbalanced and with labels that come from heterogeneous sources.
You competently manage and analyse medium-big data sets with adequate rigor. You are result-focused, pragmatic and a clear and effective communicator. You are able to discuss your approaches and findings with customers, developers, stakeholders and management alike, and you enjoy sharing your knowledge with your colleagues. You particularly feel confident to jump into customer contacts on interesting projects, presenting results from standard and greenfield data analyses, leading customer trainings, and supporting sales activities. This requires the willingness to travel (at most) a few days per month - after COVID-19, of course. This further requires that you speak the German language at a near-native level.
Your colleagues will have a preference for Scala, R and Python. Previous professional experience in any of those languages is definitely a plus. Ideally, you will possess a broad range of software-technical skills and are highly proficient in turning data discoveries into profitable products and measurable improvements for our customers, following standard process models for data mining.
