Hermes-OTTO International emerged as a separate company from the purchasing organisation founded by the Otto Group in 1966. Its main task was originally to purchase goods for Otto Group companies in the world’s major markets.
Following the reorganisation of the company in 2008, Hermes-OTTO International was opened to third-party B2B customers serving as a worldwide procurement and services partner. The portfolio now consists of the three key areas Sourcing, Service and Brands.
Sourcing handles the procurement of fashion, home furnishings and leisure products. The Service department offers services ranging from quality assurance to Supply Chain Management. And the Brands department of Hermes-OTTO International sells a broad range of retail-ready brands for various product ranges.
Hermes-OTTO International has become firmly established on the market as a services and trading company. It generates 50 percent of its revenues from international customers outside the Group.
The Sustainable Sourcing policy practiced by Hermes-OTTO International is becoming increasingly important for more and more customers. It ensures socially responsible production conditions and ecologically optimised transport and delivery paths. Like all Otto Group companies, Hermes-OTTO International complies with the Otto Group’s strict social and environmental standards, including the Code of Conduct.
Hermes-OTTO International is represented in 19 countries worldwide and has a network of more than 1,600 employees in the all of the world’s major sourcing markets.
