Accelerating out of the gate.

Our trainee programme is the perfect runway for high-flyers. You have a full 18 months to familiarise yourself with the Otto Group, different departments and your personal strengths and interests, whether you decide to focus on category management or “e-commerce”. Of course, a top executive will serve as your mentor and contact person for all your questions throughout the entire training programme.

Our employees in category management are responsible for providing our customers with a truly fun shopping experience at the individual affiliates of the Otto Group, creating a unique, high-quality and distinct product range.

Each year, two trainees have the opportunity to contribute their skills and creativity to this challenging task. Within the first twelve months you'll receive a thorough basic training in all retail-related fields such as category management, customer and platform management, branding, service and e-commerce.

In the final six months you can then specialize in one of two fields – either in textiles or hard goods category management.

Yet it doesn't stop there. As a trainee you have the opportunity to participate in a varied seminar programme and even to complete a three-month international assignment in one of our affiliates abroad.

What we expect from you? An above-average business or textile-related university degree, at least two internships as well as international experience – plus, of course, extremely high motivation and readiness to apply yourself.

The downtown shopping experience has long been complemented by online and other modern sales channels. If you are interested in e-commerce we offer you a trainee programme with the following programme: In the first twelve months you'll get to know the fields of online marketing, shop management, project and process management as well as system coordination and operations. An optional two-month international assignment rounds of this phase of your training programme, before you focus on more specialized fields in the next six months: e-commerce or corporate development.

You can expect many interesting challenges. And what do we expect? A degree in business administration, media studies, or information systems, outstanding analytical and conceptional skills as well as an independent, assertive and self-reliant approach to work. You should have great communication and team-working skills as well as an excellent command of the English language.
