Baur Versand, Germany’s first mail-order company for shoes, was founded by Dr. Friedrich Baur in Burgkunstadt, Bavaria in 1925. The company has been part of the Otto Group since 1997.

In its main catalogues and in numerous specialogues, Baur offers a wide ranging of fashions, home design ideas, household items and technical appliances. Baur is a multichannel vendor whose operations not only include its traditional catalogue business and Internet retailing, but also over-the-counter stores. It operates northern Bavaria’s largest department store, ‘Kaufwelt’.
