Gunther Holzschuh, born in 1953, completed his commercial training in the German freight and logistics sector and held a range of sales and distribution posts between 1972 – 1979 with a ship broker agency in Frankfurt, Nürnberg and also in Hong Kong for two years.

On his return to Germany in 1980 he further expanded his skills in a range of leadership posts with the logistics operators DHL and Federal Express, and in 1987 was appointed Managing Director of a mid-sized sea and air freight company.

From 1991 - 1999 Gunther Holzschuh was Managing Director of Galileo Deutschland GmbH, a worldwide leader in electronic global distribution services for the travel industry. After a period in the e-commerce and TV teleshopping sector he returned to Galileo in 2004 as Regional Man-aging Director, where he was responsible for Central Europe until 2007.

On 1st April 2007 Gunther Holzschuh joined the Otto Group and was appointed Chairman of the Management Board of Otto Freizeit und Touristik GmbH.
