Markus Brackmann, born in 1966, started his professional career with an apprenticeship at Dyckhoff in Rheine and Dusseldorf. Since 1992 he worked for several companies in the buying department, amongst others at Hettlage in Munich and at Woolworth Germany as a merchandiser for menswear.

In 2000 he joined the otto group at Bonprix in Hamburg. He was again responsible for menswear, but four years later children’s wear was added to his responsibility.

His knowledge from 12 years in retail and six years in mail order business with extensive experiences in the Asian market led the merchandising specialist to OTTO Doosan in Korea in 2006. There he started as Joint Representative Director for Merchandising, Finances, Human Ressources and Business Support.

Since 2007, Markus Brackmann has been Chairman of OTTO Doosan Mail Order Ltd., Korea. In February 2008 the company name changed to OTTO-Shopping Limited.
